Do: Shave the area 24 hours before treatment. Clean skin — no lotions, deodorant, or makeup on the day. Wear loose, comfortable clothing.
Don't: Wax, pluck, thread, or epilate for 4 weeks before (the laser needs the hair root). No sun exposure, sunbeds, or fake tan for 2 weeks before. Avoid retinol, AHAs, and bleaching creams for 3 days prior.
Side effects are minimal and temporary. Most clients experience mild redness and warmth (like mild sunburn) for 2–24 hours. Laser is not suitable if you are pregnant or breastfeeding; have active infections or open wounds in the treatment area; have a history of keloid scarring; are taking photosensitising medications; have recently used Accutane/isotretinoin (must wait 6 months).
